One of several sky bridges connecting downtown shops, malls and parking structures. This one is over Liberty Street between Nordstrom Mall and J.C. Penney's.

Skybridge

I've always appreciated the utility and comfort provided by the various skybridges linking downtown buildings. I just never realized how ugly some of them are. This one connects J.C. Penney's and the Liberty Plaza at Liberty and Chemeketa Sts. downtown.

Shoppers' delight

Salem downtown is connected by a series of enclosed sky bridges -- 7 8 if my count is correct--from parking structures to malls to department stores. This one connects Meier & Frank Macy's with the Salem Center. These are especially appreciated on cold and rainy days.
