Lèche-Vitrine

When approaching through the [sky bridge] from Penney's into the Liberty Plaza (downtown on the corner of Liberty and Chemeketa Sts.), I was met with the clean, contemporary lines and lighting which I think create a warm ambience in the open walkway. The building has undergone extensive remodeling with high quality craftsmanship, and has only a few occupants so far.

Need advice -- is this better to post in original above, or the black and white below? Appreciate any cc.

I do like the pastels of the original, I think it adds something to the photo even though I am a B&W fan. Nice shot, have you talked to the mall owners to shoot/promote their place?

I like the black and white myself.

I like the color.. it is almost black & white with just a subtle hint of color.. very classy looking.

Difficult choice as I think they both stand on their own very well but there is a 'warmth' to the first one with the soft colours..

Excellent composition with the lighting just right Jill.

kcblog -- thanks for the compliment, but I'll leave that to professionals. Besides about 5 minutes earlier I was told by a uniform not to take any photos on their property.

Thanks Lois and Karen and Beverley.

Great photo! The contemporary lines and symmetry seem to ask for a b&w, but as the colours are so soft, to be honest, I don't know which one i prefer cause I really love both...

I like the Black and White, the color photo captures the 'color' of the light that the eye does not see. The B&W is the most appealing architecturally. IMHO

Thanks JM: I was caught by the symmetry myself.

Chapmand: Thanks. It did indeed capture that subtle color. Appreciate the comment.

Very elegant — I like it!

I think the color version is better because the lights aren't exactly white. Though if it was the symmetry you wanted to emphasize, the monochrome's better — but you should take another shot without the Christmas lights though. I may not be a photographer, but I was a graphic designer for years! ;)

I prefer the color version. The black and white is simply less interesting. I don't think there's enough contrast for a really interesting BW. In my role as authorized critic I can point out that this photo is slightly crooked - not always important but in a photo where symmetry is so exact it should be straight.

I'm with the color crowd (& I was not influenced) and for the same reasons of subtle color & a very classy place.

I'm usually crazy for B&W and will almost always choose that. However, in this situation I would say I like the color better. With the B&W things just seem to fade into each other. The lines are better and each item in the photo stands out greater in the color photo.

I like the b & w best, but in this case, they're both very good. I think it just depends on your mood.

I like the color. But options are always good. ;)
