On our recent visit to central Oregon, we took the northern route across the mountains and were treated to this gorgeous sight. This is majestic Mt. Hood, home of Timberline Lodge and great ski slopes. Weathermen are forecasting an early ski season this year.

Stunning! This photo has taken my breath away!
Beautiful shot, the mountain looks so close.
I would love to spend some time there during all 4 seasons, esp. skiing. It's a stunning sight, isn't it? Nature can be so breathtaking!
Wowzer Jill!
Is it Timberland or Timberline Lodge? Some exterior shots of the hotel were used for The Shining. I think I stopped going to horror films after I saw that movie.
Yes Wayne, it is Timberline, (I guess I was half asleep when I typed that) and they have these big, cool tractor things that blow, push, and scrape the snow out of the way!
Kate, you would love it I'm sure. There are plenty of cross-country ski trails around also.
Hope and Jim - it is a beautiful sight to round the curve and see the mountain especially in bright sunshine.
Gee that is a magnificent shot. Youd could crash your car because your eyes are drawn to the vista!
Stunning. I can almost breathe that clean air. Such sharp contrasts. Beautiful, Jill.
My initial thoughts when I saw this photo were "stunning" and "magnificent," but I see others have already used those words to describe this gorgeous photo!!! It is absolutely breathtaking, but that's already been said too! Ok, so how about this: words cannot describe how beautiful this shot is!!!
Jill, that mountain is spectacular! It really is something to behold when it opens on my screen! That blue and white is such a contrast to yesterday's oranges and blues! Your photography is always beautiful!
Too beautiful!
