Looking for Food

During our recent snow, I did my best to keep food out for the birds. I was told this is a Spotted Towhee, though most websites say it doesn't live here.

This is a wonderful holiday photo. I'd love to have it on notecards since I still send snail mail!

I wish I could capture such a pretty bird as this one and of course with the snow as a back cloth it stands out so well..

What a beautiful bird and so fabulous against that snowy background. Glad you put out food. Me too. Mostly all we get here are the tits tho.

What a lovely shot. It has a lot of drama in spite of the hush of of the snow.

He's such a beauty. We have been feeding our garden birds twice as much too.

Another great bird photo, this one so different from the last. I've been out of touch for a while, and I can't believe how much snow you still have!

This looks like our Eastern Towhee. If it is I wonder how it got to Oregon? There is, I think, a Western version but am not able to look it up at the moment.

I thank you for the comment on the covered bridges. The time I went to the county I did take the time to drive around and see a lot of those bridges and photographed many or most of them. Some are my favorites.

Also, if I recall, this county reminded me of the Alps. Not really the Alps but there were places there that looked like another world with high hills and deep valleys. Maybe it was another county? It has been a long time ago.

The Towhee stands out so well in his environment. The snow piled on the branches create such a good criss-cross of lines. Is that green lichen that I see trying to survive the cold?

Really good photo ...

Beautiful photo! You captured this bird so well, and the detail is excellent! Sorry I have been MIA - a lot going on here in the weeks before Christmas, but we are all back under one roof, and things are slowing down. I hope you have a wonderful New Year!

How beautiful! I wish I could take such wonderful bird pictures but I have not mastered it yet. I too keep food out for them especially in cold weather because I just love watching them! Happy New Year!
