The Cascade Mountains form a stunning backdrop for Bend. Autumn color is just beginning to show. In the mild Willamette Valley, Salem gets clouds and rain while Bend, at an elevation of 3600+ ft above sea level, and at the western edge of high desert country, gets a lot of sunny skies and snow. Not sure why our autumn is weeks ahead of theirs.

This is such a peaceful and beautiful scene. Just gorgeous!
Oh that is divine! I love the snow-capped mountains peaking over in the background -- and all the colours of autumn. Love it.
Love that shot. We are headed to Bend today for a long weekend.
Jill, consider me stunned. Such a majestic and tranquil setting. You did a good job of capturing it with the ladies in front giving it a warm, human feel.
Nice to have the people in this image for scale. And yes, our dinner in Little Italy was delicious!
That shot is just gorgeous. I can almost smell the air, its so clear.

I really miss the natural beauty of America. You just don't see things like this here in Saudi Arabia!
