Relics

I don't know the history of this wheel, but there were many settlers in this area who arrived by covered wagon. This was found along Olney Road.

You cannot imagine how important this corner fence row is to Nature. Not only do the old fence posts rot and provide nest sites for Blue Birds, but around the base is dense grass which is a perfect place for momma rabbit to give birth and care of baby bunnies. Unfortunately, this world of ours is in no mood to leave places like this alone, so, in no time these environments are destroyed and once more birds often die looking for places to build nests and rabbits are forced to deliver in places exposed to feral cats and wild dogs.

Your post today is excellent. The photography is very good.

Wonderful pic today. This is a beautiful scene and the wagon wheel is very evocative of days gone by. I too often see wagon wheels, abandoned buildings or the remnants of a house and wonder about the history.
